Women's swimming

I like swimming, I’ve always liked swimming, but how many female swimmers can you actually name? I am going to tell you about women’s swimming here in Budapest.

On May 11th ­- 12th this year in Budapest, Hungary there was a Champions Swim Series. In the Women's 100m backstroke Katinka Hosszu, a Hungarian swimmer, came first. Barbara Petronujevic (Year 10) goes to Katinka Hosszu's swim school and she said, “I want Katinka Hosszu, Sarah Sjöström and Yulia Efimova to win the World Aquatics Championship.” This makes me realise that there are actually famous female swimmers. I want to find out more...

In 2017 there was an Aquatics championship here in Budapest at Duna Arena. In the Women's Breaststroke 50m Lilly King came first, in backstroke 200m Emily Seebohm came first and in second place Katinka Hosszu.

Women don’t have as many supporters in sport as men. In all areas of sport men get more money. You know the names of most of the men sport players, but do you know the women’s? Perhaps we should all find out.
