It is widely known that the lion is the king of the jungle. It's mainly because of their ability to dominate their habitat while being at the top of the food chain. No animal hunts mature lions. This is also because of their raw power and strength and it is thought among many people that lions don’t fear any animals. Their large and muscular body makes people think of their power. A Lot of people think that lions symbolize strength, power, and nobility. This creates a lot of fear for lions in humans while loads of animals are afraid of lions.

Face the facts.

Even though most of what people think about lions is true, they are still vulnerable to threats. Lions can be harmed by other large predators such as hyenas, leopards, elephants, rhinos and crocodiles. Although lions prey on many animals, they have poor eyesight which can make it hard for them to prey on different animals They are also vulnerable to diseases which can weaken their immune system.

Competitors.

Although many people think of lions as fully superior to all animals. Lions are vulnerable to elephants, their enormous tusks are formidable defense mechanisms against predators while their thick skin provides an extra layer of protection from a lion’s attacks. They have a massive body that is really hard to take down. A hippo could defeat a lion because, hippos have strong bite power as well as large teeth., Hippos also have strong, thick skin that can protect them from predators. Moreover, hippos have a large body like elephants. A crocodile could defeat a lion, crocodiles have extremely strong bite power, they also have tough scales and they would be hard to kill by a lion especially when the crocodile would be underwater; that would be a big advantage of the crocodile as they are great swimmers and are able to make sudden lunges out of the water to capture the lion. A buffalo could defeat a lion as well. A buffalo is much bigger than a lion in size, it can also defend itself and attack with its horns although the fight between a lion and a buffalo would be quite tough fight for either animals to win. A bear could defeat a lion too. Bears have a large advantage in size compared to lions, a bear is also quite strong although a lion is as well; in some cases, a bear would win if there was a fight of a bear against a younger lion or if a lion surprise attacked the bear and had bitten into the bear’s head shattering it’s skull. Either way, a fight between a bear and a lion would still be quite hard for either animals. A lot of people consider that a tiger could possibly be stronger than a lion and would defeat a lion…and they most certainly can.

Winner?

By far the strongest competitor against a lion indeed an elephant! An elephant could easily defeat a lion with its giant tusks, its massive body and strength, some extra-large elephants would even step on lions leaving the lion extremely wounded; and after that the elephant would finish off the lion. Moreover the king of the jungle is the elephant!
