Why is Child Labor such a Significant Problem?
Imagine a child, the same age as you, carrying a 4kg brick every day. This is actually happening right now. More than 160 million children suffer working as child labor.
What is child labor?
Child labor is basically children working in a way hat harms them. The International Labor Organization defines it as work that damages children's health, threatens their education and leads to further exploitation.
Why is it a problem?
It is a problem because children are working instead of getting educated. This is often because their family doesn't have enough money as their parents don’t have jobs. This is a problem because children can’t actually have a dream, and children are our future.
What work are they doing?
Many of the children are inside child labor work in agriculture such as farming coco seeds or picking cotton. But there are very few industries that do not use children in some way.
What brands use child labor?
Big-name fast fashion brands like Zara , Nike , GAP , Forever 21 use child labor in their supply chains.
How can we stop it?
We have to create more educational schools, jobs and we got to help at least 1 percent of donations.
